About the event
Smart Money Management for Teens is a 2-part workshop series geared to support teens in learning the fundamentals of financial indepedence. Over the course of both workshops, teens will learn best practices for:
• Money management
• Borrowing
• Financial Services
• Investing
Students meet twice on April 13th and April 27th from 10 am - 12 pm at Hyde Park Arts Center.

This workshop series is part of Off the Pews The Institute of Financial Development for Teens (IFDT). The institute is designed to support teens who demonstrate an interest and commitment for acquiring financial independence. Students of Off the Pews' IFDT are exposed to a variety of learnings, skills, resources, and networks that will prepare them for financial independence as adults.
IFDT Curricula includes financial literacy, workforce development urban garden internship, digital literacy, investment club. During the investment club, IFDT students work in groups to research an investment venture as their capstone project. The program will conclude with a graduation where students will present their investment venture a the invest-a-tank challenge.
Student who successful complete the IFDT program will be equipped with the tools to make effective and informed money management decisions, that will help them to chart a positive course crucial to helping them grown into adults who can achieve financial security and success.
